MONTREAL, Feb. 14 /CNW Telbec/ - Dr. Philippe Couillard, P.C., M.D.,
will advise SECOR's Canadian and international clients on strategies in
the health and life science sectors. While joining the SECOR team as of
today, Dr. Couillard will remain a partner in Persistence Capital
Partners as well as retaining his seats on the boards of Amorfix Life
Sciences and Thallion Pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Couillard served as Quebec's Minister of Health and Social Services,
a position he held from 2003 to 2008. Prior to that, he was a
neurosurgeon at St. Luc Hospital, where he headed the Department of
Neurosurgery from 1989 to 1992. He then co-founded the Department of
Neurosurgery in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, where he worked from 1992 to
1996. Upon his return to Canada, he became a professor at the
University of Sherbrooke's Faculty of Medicine, where he taught from
1996 to 2003. He was also the director and chief surgeon for the
Department of Surgery at the CHUS (Sherbrook University Hospital
Centre) from 2000 to 2003. He graduated from the University of
Montreal's Faculty of Medicine in 1979 as a neurosurgeon, with a
designation in neurosurgery from the Collège des médecins du Québec and
the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1985.
Dr. Couillard has been a partner in Persistence Capital Partners since
October, 2008, which focuses exclusively on investment in the health
field. Dr. Couillard also is teaches health care governance at McGill
University. As a member of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada, he
serves on Canada's Security Intelligence Review Committee.
