VANCOUVER, May 17 /CNW/ - Mark Fieder, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Ontario region,
announced today that Peter Burdon has joined Avison Young's brokerage operations in the company's Toronto North office.
Effective immediately, Burdon joins Avison Young as a commercial real
estate investment broker. He will work closely with the company's
Ontario and national investment teams to further strengthen and expand
Avison Young's investment capabilities, particularly in the northern
Greater Toronto Area (GTA) market. Most recently, he served as a broker
with Royal LePage in the York Region (an area spanning nine
municipalities in Southern Ontario), specializing in mid-market

marketing efforts in the York Region and peripheral investment

With C-level leadership experience in both private industry and
not-for-profit sectors, Burdon has a thorough understanding of the
business dynamics of the area and the interaction of private business
and government. His previous business-owner and CEO experience includes
intensive negotiations for purchase of real estate property and large
capital investment in land and facilities. The result is an empathetic
approach to the process his clients must use when they consider the
acquisition of commercial property.
Achievements and membership associations include: Past President, York
Region Chamber of Commerce; Corporate Citizen of the Year (1999) - York
Region Chamber of Commerce; Co-Chair, Community Economic Development
Team (1997-2000); and recipient of Royal LePage Master Sales Awards
(2008, 2009). Burdon studied political science, history and geology at
the University of Calgary and holds a certificate in marketing from the
University of Ottawa.
