Canada and a famous tourist attraction in Nova Scotia, the iconic
lighthouse at Peggy's Cove, made its debut appearance today at Bay and
Wellington. The site will be known as Peggy's Corner for the next
The Nova Scotia Tourism Agency has installed a 28 foot replica of the
Peggy's Cove lighthouse in downtown Toronto as an unmistakable reminder
for people to visit the popular vacation destination in person this
"Today we invited Toronto to taste our incredible seafood, hear our
world-renowned music, and, most of all, enjoy our legendary, down-home
hospitality," said Patrick Sullivan, CEO of the Nova Scotia Tourism
Agency. "Toronto is the largest city in Canada and an important market
for Nova Scotia's tourism industry so we thought it appropriate to
extend a formal invitation."
Adding to the Nova Scotia flavour of the lighthouse event was the
culinary flare of the Kilted Chef, Alain Bossé. He demonstrated his
Lobster 101 tutorial for those in attendance and treated the crowd to a
sample of his special Nova Scotia lobster rolls.

Nova-Scotia based comedian, Candy Palmater host of The Candy Show, extended a spirited invitation to the crowd of hundreds who gathered
to enjoy the province's trademark seafood and music.
"In Nova Scotia we say go big or stay home," said Palmater. "We didn't
stay home, but we certainly went big today."

Visitors are encouraged to post their photos with the lighthouse along
with the hashtag #peggyscorner between May 15 and June 9 for a chance
to win a daily prize of a fresh lobster dinner for two delivered
straight from Nova Scotia.
There will also be an opportunity to win an all expense paid trip for
four valued at $10,000 to Nova Scotia with the recently launched Hit
