Two Clay Courts Are Available to Everyone and Gentle On The Players
WAIKIKI, Hawaii, Nov. 7, 2011 /CNW/ -- The tennis courts at the Pacific Beach Hotel are unique in Waikiki for a number of reasons that makes it a preferred choice for highly skilled players as well as those of us who just enjoy the fun and exercise.
The Waikiki Tennis Club is operated and managed by the United States Tennis Association Hawaii Pacific Section. The USTA is the national governing body for the sport of tennis including access to tournaments, instruction, sponsored programs and more.
The club and courts are right in the heart of Waikiki, on the 8th floor of the Pacific Beach Hotel and is open to hotel guests, kama'aina players, club members groups and those who simply want to play. It has dramatic views all around because the hotel is located on Kalakaua Avenue across from Kuhio Beach.
And, one of the Waikiki Tennis Club professionals can give you individual lessons; the club rents racquets and tennis balls and has a reduced rate on parking at the Pacific Beach Hotel adjoining structure.
The club recently installed the Classic Clay brand tennis surface on both courts. It offers the softer and slightly slower response of clay, but it is synthetic and "waterless." It is a premier surface and the only one like it in Waikiki or anywhere nearby.
"Local residents and visitors have a unique opportunity to take lessons from world-class tennis pros and also play on a 'soft' court that is unlike Hawaii's typically 'hard' courts," said Ron Romano, Executive Director, USTA Hawaii Pacific Section.
