Quebec stars join Justin Bieber and other celebrities in donating sunglasses for CNIB charity auction

MONTREAL, May 11 /CNW/ - Véronique Cloutier, Éric Salvail and Justin Bieber all have something in common: they're helping people rebuild their lives after losing their vision - by donating their sunglasses to CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind) for the charity's upcoming Shades of Fun auction on eBay.

Opening to the public on May 13 and available to bidders across Canada and around the world, the auction is part of CNIB's Shades of Fun campaign, an annual fundraiser that encourages everyone in Québec and across Canada to slip on their sunglasses throughout May to protect their eyes from UV damage and raise funds to support CNIB services for people with vision loss.

"We're thrilled and humbled by the generosity of these celebrities," said Dorothée Janet, Executive Director of CNIB-Quebec. "Their participation will go a long way toward raising awareness about vision health and raising funds for CNIB services across Quebec."

Cloutier, Salvail, and Bieber are joined in their support of CNIB by other entertainers and media personalities including author and journalist François Dominic Laramée, singer Sarah McLachlan, MuchMusic VJ Jesse Giddings and Olympic Gold Medalists Scott Moir to only name a few.

Fans can view the sunglasses and learn more about the participating celebrities at www.cnib.ca/auctions. All proceeds from the auction will help support CNIB services for people who are blind or partially sighted across Quebec and Canada, like emotional support, computer training and access to information in alternative formats.
