NORTH BAY, ON, Sept. 19, 2011 /CNW/ - Ontario Northland and the
Teamsters Canada Rail Conference Division 910 representing motor coach
operators, announced that they have ratified their labour agreement.
The four year agreement impacts 55 employees working as Motor Coach
Operators, Operator Labourers and Dispatchers throughout Ontario
Northland's Northeastern Ontario service territory. Highlights of the
contract include wage increases effective January 1, 2013 (0.5% and
COLA capped at 1.5%) and an additional 3% increase in the rate of pay
as of January 1, 2014.
"We are very pleased to have reached a settlement with employees
represented by the Teamsters," said Corina Moore, Chief Operating
Officer and lead negotiator. "The union and the employees have shown
tremendous commitment to the company."
"The gains made in this agreement will have an immediate and positive
impact for our members," said Tony Wentzell, General Chairperson of the
local Teamsters Division. "Teamsters Canada Rail Conference looks
forward to continued partnership with the ONTC resulting in future bus
service improvements for people across the north."
