More Ontario Leaders Stepping Forward To Endorse "Forward.Together"
TORONTO, Sept. 5, 2011 /CNW/ - More Ontarians are stepping forward to
say that they support the Ontario Liberal Plan because Ontario needs
strong, steady leadership during times of uncertainty.
"Together, we're attracting good, new-economy jobs by being bold and
forward looking. That's how you succeed in uncertain times — by seizing
opportunity and building advantage," said Premier McGuinty. "Ontarians
don't want to go backwards. They want to move forward, with certainty,
into a better future."
Some of those supporting the Ontario Liberal platform include:
Kevin O'Dwyer, President of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers'
Association, who said our plan for education will "build on many of the
great things already underway in our schools."
Mamdouh Shoukri , President of York University, who said: "The goals of
having the highest postsecondary attainment rate and most educated
workforce in the world are the right ones."
Professor Jeremy Kerr, Head of the Canadian Facility for Ecoinformatics
Research, who said "Premier McGuinty is the best environmental champion
in Ontario's history." And went on to say of the PCs and NDP that "both
parties have worked against the effective legislation Ontario needs to
protect its natural heritage."
Dr. Sankar Das Gupta, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Electrovaya
Inc., who said that "Premier McGuinty has shown strong leadership in
his advocacy for Ontario businesses in the greening automotive and
Susan Thorning, Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Community Support
Association, who said: "Premier McGuinty recognizes the need to help
seniors stay in their homes and out of hospital."
The NDP are making three times as many promises as the Ontario Liberal
platform, and the PCs are making an incredible five times as many — and
neither of them had their platform independently validated.
Already, over 50 different Ontario leaders have endorsed the Ontario
Liberal platform because it provides the strong, steady leadership the
province needs to stay on track and keep moving forward.
