Launch of Noveko IDP(TM) filters in the aeronautics market
MONTREAL, June 13, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - Noveko International Inc. (TSX: EKO) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that its subsidiary Noveko Inc. ("Noveko") has been granted a Supplemental Type Certificate ("STC") allowing the installation of filters incorporating its Noveko(TM) filtration technologies into the Airbus 330 series aircraft.
Transport Canada's grant of the STC certificate for the filters was confirmed by Polytech Aero Support Inc. ("PAS"), an organization with a full delegation of authority from Transport Canada. It paves the way for their commercialization throughout the Airbus 330 fleet worldwide. The filters, developed jointly with Industrielle du Ponant, will be sold by Noveko under the Noveko IDP(TM) brand.
"Our efforts and perseverance in the aeronautics file have finally paid off and earned their first official recognition. This certification is perfectly timed as our filters are already attracting great interest in this high-potential industry and will be exhibited for the first time at the International Paris Air Show at Le Bourget to be held from June 20 to 26, 2011," indicated Mr. Alain Bolduc, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company. "This STC certification is just the first in a series since we intend to have the entire Airbus fleet certified and then to do the same with other airline manufacturers. Steps to that end have already been taken and we expect the files to proceed more quickly. As the performance tests have already been completed, now it is simply a matter of validating the different filter models."
"On the strength of our twenty-plus years of expertise in the aeronautics industry, we are particularly proud to have partnered with Noveko in developing this new line of filters offering superior innovative features and performances. Thanks to the Noveko(TM) patented air filtration technologies, notably their antimicrobial properties and lesser air resistance, the various tests conducted on Noveko IDP(TM) filters revealed that they attain ULPA (Ultra-Low Particulate Air) filtration levels and also provide an unrivalled odour management solution," added Mr. Stéphane Kaddour, President, Industrielle du Ponant.
