Janet M. Davidson,  BScN '71, LLD '09
President & CEO Trillium Health Centre

Janet M. Davidson joined Trillium Health Centre as President and CEO in March 2007. She has more than 30 years experience in health care management in the hospital, government and voluntary sectors in Ontario, B.C. and Alberta.

Prior to joining Trillium, she was Chief Operating Officer - Vancouver Acute with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority. Prior to that, Janet served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Toronto East General Hospital (TEGH.) She has also served as Assistant Deputy Minister of Health for Alberta, Chief Operating Officer for the Alberta Mental Health Board, and Chief Operating Officer of the University of Alberta Hospital.

Neatly interwoven into Janet's career has been her volunteer work with the International Red Cross/Red Crescent, the largest voluntary humanitarian organization in the world. Honoured as an Officer of the Order of the Red Cross, Janet has volunteered for over 30 years (many in a senior governance capacity) fighting on the front lines of malaria and HIV/AIDS relief in Africa, rebuilding tsunami- and hurricane-affected countries, providing feeding programs in war-ravaged and drought-ridden countries, and protecting victims of conflict in different regions of the world.

In 2006, Davidson was named an Officer of the Order of Canada for her work with the Red Cross. She has also been recognized several times for her professional contributions, including the 1998 YMCA Woman of the Year Award in Business and Management, and, in 1999, the 125th Anniversary and Queen's Jubilee Medals and recognition in Chatelaine's Who's Who of Canadian Women.

Dr. Martha Reavley BComm '81, MBA '82

According to one student "Dr. Reavely consistently helps her students well beyond the purposes of the courses that she teaches.  She spends countless hours assisting students with career aspirations, thought provoking discussions and supporting them through personal challenges."  Another student said "Dr. Reavely remains committed to progressive teaching and is always looking for new ways to enhance the student learning experience to ensure that deep and transferrable learning occurs."

Reavley recognizes the important role that she plays in the life of her student.  "What I hope to achieve is helping students to realize their own capabilities, competencies and leadership potential…by setting up experiences to push them a little and give them a soft place to land.  Over 30 years, as a student and as a professor, I have been given many opportunities for professional growth.  I always felt that it is a deep responsibility of mine to give those opportunities to others."
