NBCUNIVERSAL’S iVILLAGE AND ROGERS MEDIA ANNOUNCE LONG TERM STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP TO LAUNCH iVILLAGE CANADA

New iVillage.ca site to launch in Spring 2011 and will Expand iVillage Brand Reach Throughout North America

NEW YORK & TORONTO, Feb. 22 /CNW/ - iVillage, the largest content-driven community for women online, and Rogers Media, a leading Canadian media player, today announced a long-term partnership in the Canadian market, centered around the launch of a new iVillage Canada site. The deal was announced today by John Curbishley, Senior Vice President of Business Development, iVillage and Pary Bell, Vice President, Digital Product of Rogers Media.

The expansion marks the first major international partnership for iVillage since the launch of iVillage.co.uk in December 2000. Rogers will independently operate the new iVillage.ca site, which will reflect iVillage's brand mission as a trusted and reliable community where women come to connect, share advice, find life tools and engage in conversations that matter most to them. 

A dedicated team of Canadian-based editors and writers will offer original women-centric content; editorial from both iVillage.com and iVillage.co.uk; and content from Rogers' media properties such as Chatelaine, sweetspot.ca and Citytv. Rogers will manage all aspects of sales and marketing, as well as exclusively represent Canadian advertising inventory on existing iVillage network sites, including iVillage.com and iVillage.co.uk.

Rogers Media also announced today that Leigh Felesky has been appointed as the site's General Manager & Director, following her success in leading the re-launch of Chatelaine.com last year.
