TORONTO, April 7 /CNW/ - One of Canada's most popular sportswriters
contributes his voice to TSN, as the network today announced that National Post sports columnist Bruce Arthur has joined Canada's Sports Leader.
Arthur will appear on TSN RADIO 1050 as co-host of CYBULSKI & COMPANY on Mondays, alongside afternoon drive host, James Cybulski. He makes
his debut on Canada's newest all-sports radio station on Monday, April 18, following the launch of TSN RADIO 1050 on Wednesday,
In addition to his role on TSN RADIO 1050, Arthur will also join host Dave Hodge as a regular panellist on the
critically-acclaimed weekly magazine show, TSN THE REPORTERS WITH DAVE HODGE, airing Sundays at 10:30 a.m. ET on
Arthur, a 2010 National Newspaper Awards finalist and one of the most
influential journalists on Twitter, will continue in his role as
national sports columnist for the National Post.
"Bruce is one of the brightest, young sports journalists in Canada,"
said Mark Milliere, Senior Vice-President, TSN. "Whether it's in his
column, on the radio, on TV or on Twitter, Bruce's perspective is
always smart and always on the mark."
"I don't know anyone who doesn't like James Cybulski, though I can't
necessarily say the same for his three-piece suits. Luckily, this is
radio, and what he's wearing won't matter, and we'll have a hell of a
lot of fun," said Arthur. "As for THE REPORTERS, I love the show, and I'm simply honoured to work with Dave Hodge. He's
a legend in this business for a reason, and I just hope I don't ever
cause him to flip his pen in disgust."
A veteran sportswriter, Arthur has been with the National Post since 2001. He covered the Toronto Raptors for five years before being
named the newspaper's Toronto sports columnist in 2007. In 2008,
Arthur became the Post's national sports columnist and has since covered major events such as
the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Grey Cup, the Beijing 2008 Olympic Summer
Games and the VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES. Last year he was
featured on ESPN's AROUND THE HORN, making him the first Canadian
journalist to appear on the network's daily sports debate program.
Arthur is also very active on Twitter with more than 8,000 followers on
the social media website.
The next evolution of the TSN brand, TSN RADIO 1050 will feature best-in-class analysis from TSN's sports experts and
insiders and coverage of live sporting events such as Toronto Argonauts
games during the 2011 CFL season, along with original programming
during the week. Launching on Wednesday, April 13, TSN RADIO 1050 will be available to sports fans in the Greater Toronto area on AM 1050
and nationally online at TSN.ca and on the TSN MOBILE app for
BlackBerry, iPhone and iPad.
