Montréal Sacré-Coeur Hospital Foundation - 105,7 Rythme FM and 98,5 team up with the Foundation for its fundraising activities

MONTREAL, Nov. 14, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - COGECO Diffusion and the Montréal Sacré-Coeur Hospital Foundation today announced they have reached an agreement under which COGECO will be the media partner for the Foundation's fundraising activities for a one-year period.

"COGECO Diffusion and its stations 105,7 Rythme FM and 98,5 are pleased to join forces with the Montréal Sacré-Coeur Hospital Foundation, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. The Foundation's mission is to raise funds and provide financial support to the Montréal Sacré-Coeur Hospital," said Richard Lachance, senior vice-president, radio, at COGECO Diffusion.

According to Mr. Lachance, it is inspiring to support the activities of a hospital affiliated with the Université de Montréal and to enable the Foundation to seek major financial support by providing good visibility for its partners by broadcasting short radio messages about the Foundation's activities.

"It's important to forge close ties with the hospital community and to provide the public with information about issues in healthcare and various associated topics," added Mr. Lachance. "For the stations of COGECO Diffusion and their listeners, this is good news indeed."

"The Foundation team is delighted with the partnership agreement we have just signed. We will now be able to address the public directly over the radio and raise awareness of our mission and our activities, with the goal of securing financial support for projects that are deemed to be priorities by the Montréal Sacré-Coeur Hospital. Our Hospital is our cause," said Benoit Tremblay, the Foundation's executive director.

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The Foundation was established in 1976, by the Congregation of the Sisters of Providence, with a major bequest by a generous donor. By providing financial support to the Montréal Sacré-Coeur Hospital, the Foundation strives to continually improve the delivery of care and achieve the institution's academic research and teaching mission.

Building on the success and public awareness of its $35-million 2005-2009 major fundraising campaign and the more recent $10-million campaign for the future integrated trauma center, the Montréal Sacré-Coeur Hospital Foundation intends to consolidate its philanthropic leadership in the hospital setting.
