TORONTO, Sept. 12, 2011 /CNW/ - This September, CHCH and Métro14
Montréal give viewers two brand new dramatic series that the critics have raved about, plus one of the top-rated entertainment programs in the country. Come home to CHCH and Métro14 this Fall!
The Secret Circle - Series Premiere Sept 15
Thursdays at 8 on CHCH, Thursdays at 9 on Métro14
Available in HD
The ordinary becomes the extraordinary in THE SECRET CIRCLE, a new drama
series full of mystery, intrigue and danger — based upon the book
series by L.J. Smith (The Vampire Diaries) — as it chronicles the story of a young girl who discovers not only
that she is a witch and part of a secret coven, but that she is the key
which will unlock a centuries-old battle of good versus evil.
From executive producers Kevin Williamson (The Vampire Diaries, Dawson's Creek, Scream), Andrew Miller (Imaginary Bitches), Andrea Newman (Human Target, 24, Private Practice, Felicity), Leslie Morgenstein (The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, The Lying Game) and Gina Girolamo (Alloy Entertainment).
The Secret Circle stars Britt Robertson (Life Unexpected, Dan in Real Life, Scream 4), Thomas Dekker (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Gale Harold (Queer as Folk, Hellcats, Desperate Housewives, Deadwood), Shelley Hennig (Days of Our Lives), Phoebe Tonkin (Home and Away, H20: Just Add Water), Louis Hunter (Out of the Blue), Jessica Parker Kennedy (upcoming 50/50, Smallville, Another Cinderella Story), Ashley Crow (Heroes, Turks, Minority Report, Never Give Up: The Jimmy V Story) and Natasha Henstridge (Eli Stone, Would Be Kings, She Spies, The Whole Nine Yards, Species).
In the series premiere, Cassie Blake's world is turned upside down after her mother dies in a
mysterious accident, forcing Cassie to move in with her loving
grandmother Jane in the small town of Chance Harbor, Washington. While
trying to adjust to her new life, Cassie is quickly befriended by Diana
Meade, a sweet-natured classmate who offers to show her around and
introduces her to mean-girl Faye, Faye's sidekick Melissa and Cassie's
next door neighbor Nick. Things get complicated when Cassie meets Adam,
Diana's boyfriend, with whom she feels an instant and powerful
connection. Upon meeting one of her mother's childhood friends, Dawn
Chamberlain — who is also the school principal and Faye's mother —
Cassie begins to wonder why her mother never spoke of her hometown.
When strange and dangerous things begin to happen, Cassie's new friends
are forced to tell her their secret — they are all witches and her
arrival will complete the Circle. However, the Circle has not been
drawn together again by chance — Diana's father, Charles Meade has
plans of his own for the group.

Hart of Dixie - Series Premiere Sept 26
Monday at 8 on CHCH, Mondays at 9 on Métro14
Available in HD
Rachel Bilson (The O.C.) leads a stellar ensemble cast in this fish-out-of-water comedic drama
about small-town living, big-city attitudes and complicated love
Everything had been going according to plan for Dr. Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson). Beautiful, privileged and talented, she was on her way to becoming a
heart surgeon, just like her father. But when she's told she doesn't
have the requisite bedside manner to get an important fellowship --
that she doesn't have the heart to be a heart surgeon - Zoe becomes
devastated. If she wants to get the fellowship next year, she's going
to have to take a job as a general practitioner. So, this lifelong New
Yorker takes a chance on an offer by a mysterious admirer -- a southern
country doctor -- packs her bags, slips on her stilettos and leaves
Manhattan for life on the Gulf Coast.
Welcome to HART OF DIXIE, set in the lovely town of BlueBell, Alabama,
where the neighbours take care of one another, the mailman knows your
name, there's a parade every Tuesday ... and no one has ever seen the
likes of Dr. Zoe Hart. Zoe feels the culture shock of her new
surroundings immediately, but the real shock comes when she learns that
the doctor who invited her to BlueBell has passed away and left her
with his half of the medical practice. His old-school partner, Dr.
Brick Breeland, is determined to chase her out of town, and his
daughter, southern belle Lemon Breeland, is only too happy to help.
In the series premiere, Zoe makes some allies in town -- former football star turned mayor,
Lavon Hayes; 14-year-old insta-fan, Rose Hattenbarger; and handsome
lawyer, George Tucker, who's been to New York and whose confident smile
makes Zoe blush. However, after she makes a big mistake as a small town
doctor, fights with her sexy, bad boy neighbour, has a run-in with an
alligator and finds out that George is engaged to her new nemesis, the
syrupy sweet Lemon Breeland, Zoe decides to hightail it back to New
York. But, in the South, things aren't always what they seem and Zoe
discovers more than one reason to stick around, including that her
father's footsteps may not have been the right ones to follow. Dr. Zoe
Hart just might find she belongs more in this town than she ever could
