CNIB Available to Discuss Local Implications
TORONTO, May 31, 2011 /CNW/ - The looming postal strike by the Canadian
Union of Postal Workers poses a significant financial threat to
Canada's charities, including CNIB, which provides direct services to
Canadians who are blind and partially sighted.
Like most charities, CNIB relies heavily on Canada Post for its donation
programs and for delivery of vital services, such as products that
enhance independent living and reading material in accessible formats
from the CNIB library.
CNIB spokespeople across the country are available to discuss the impact
of the postal disruption on the charitable sector in general, the
impact of a strike on CNIB's services and how the charity is reaching
out to clients and donors.
CNIB is a registered charity, passionately providing community-based
support, knowledge and a national voice to ensure Canadians who are
blind or partially sighted have the confidence, skills and
opportunities to fully participate in life. To make a donation or learn
more, visit www.cnib.ca or call the toll-free CNIB Helpline at 1-800-563-2642.
