The World's Largest Massage Therapy Franchise Invites Toronto Area
Entrepreneurs to Massage Envy Spa Exhibit at The Franchise Show, Feb.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Feb. 18, 2011 /CNW/ -- Massage Envy Spa, the pioneer and U.S. leader of affordable and convenient massage and spa services, announced today it plans to expand into Toronto and throughout Ontario as part of the company's 2011 Canadian growth plans. To fuel this expansion, Massage Envy is seeking area representatives to develop locations in the area over the next several years.
Currently, the company has more than 660 Massage Envy and Massage Envy Spa locations in the United States, making it the largest system of franchised massage centers in the industry. Since its inception in 2002, Massage Envy has experienced tremendous growth in the U.S. and plans to continue to expand its presence in markets across the U.S., as well as throughout Canada.
"We see enormous potential for Massage Envy to grow in Canada and look forward to offering affordable and accessible massage therapy and skincare treatments to consumers in Toronto and across Ontario," said Massage Envy CEO David Humphrey. "To enable aggressive growth this year, we will seek qualified area representatives to develop Massage Envy locations and help us expand our presence throughout the country."
To share information about franchising opportunities in Ontario, as well as throughout the country, Massage Envy is exhibiting at The Franchise Show, held Feb. 26th and 27th at the Toronto Congress Centre, North Bldg. Hall H, 650 Dixon Road (off Highway 401). Massage Envy encourages entrepreneurs and business professionals in the surrounding area to stop by Booth #205-207 at the show and learn more about Massage Envy and what makes it one of the world's fastest growing wellness brands. Admission is $10 for a one-day pass and the show's exhibition hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
"Area representatives in the Toronto area will have the unique opportunity to join a growing business with tremendous potential, while also contributing to the community by providing a healthful service that will play a role in consumers' overall wellness routine," said Humphrey. "Our business requires entrepreneurs who have extensive business experience at the management or executive level, as well as a proven track record in business development, outstanding interpersonal skills and strong financial net worth."
Qualified area representative candidates should have business sales or management experience, but do not need to have a massage therapy or spa operations background. Area representatives are not only responsible for establishing a successful Massage Envy Spa, but will recruit, train and support individual franchisees in their respective territories. They will share in the revenue streams generated by those franchisees.
Recently, Massage Envy announced that it experienced 29 percent growth in membership last year, increasing from 701,000 members in 2009 to over 900,000 members in 2010. In fact, the company recently performed its 20 millionth massage. Net sales for franchisees have grown as well.
"This growth is not surprising to us. Massage Envy has changed the public's perception of the benefits of massage and spa therapy," added Humphrey. "By democratizing these services and making them available to consumers from all walks of life, the public now recognizes the importance of visiting Massage Envy to maintain a balanced lifestyle focused on wellness."
In 2009, Massage Envy established a strategic partnership with global skincare leader Murad®. Massage Envy Spa is now recognized as the largest spa chain in the world by the International Spa Association. With Murad, Massage Envy Spa customers benefit from facials and skin care treatments designed by one of the world's foremost leaders in skin health.
Massage Envy is the world's largest employer of licensed/registered massage therapists, with more than 16,000 therapists providing over 250,000 massages every week.
