Maple Reinders Constructors Ltd. - Aon Hewitt Research/Queen's School of Business Identifies Canada's Best Employers in the Greater Toronto Area for 2012

General Contractor Ranks #20 on the List!

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Nov. 28, 2011 /CNW/ - Maple Reinders Constructors Ltd. is pleased to be named among the Top 35 Best Small and Medium Employers in the GTA by Queen's University School of Business and Aon Hewitt. This is our third year participating in the survey and the third time we have made the list.

"Maple Reinders has truly been blessed to grow in the last three years in light of the recent economic conditions. Our success can be attributed to all employees of Maple Reinders who, as the survey results indicate, have a very high level of engagement and share a commitment to integrity and excellence.  It is especially significant since great effort was made to survey every employee at each level, in all offices and construction sites, hourly and salaried, union and open shop" said Mike Reinders, Maple Reinders' President.

"The survey results now gives us opportunity to work on areas for further improvement and, as well, the high ranking has generated tremendous energy, pride and optimism for the future," said Reinders.

Becoming a Top Best Small and Medium Employer is a very detailed and competitive process.  Employee opinion determines the results and the list is drawn from the participation in the 2012 national Best Employers studies.  This national awards program recognizes top employers with between 50 and 399 employees for the Best Small and Medium Employers.

According to Aon Hewitt's definition, employees are engaged when they speak positively about the organization to others, are committed to remaining with their current employers, and are motivated by their organization's leaders, managers, culture and values to go "above and beyond" to contribute to business success.

The rankings are primarily determined using the results from Employee Opinion Surveys.  Here, 21 key engagement drivers are detailed and analyzed.  The evaluation process also includes the assessment of organization practices and perspectives from the leadership team.  This year, more than 250 companies across Canada registered to participate in the study.  The study, now in its sixth year, is published in Maclean's Magazine.

Study partners include Queen's School of Business, Queen's Centre for Business Venturing and Aon Hewitt. More information about the Best Small & Medium Employers in Canada is available online at http://business.queensu.ca/qcbv/sme.
