Look on the plus side: Estimated $50 million jackpot plus an estimated 10 MAXMILLIONS up for grabs

TORONTO, Jan. 28, 2012 /CNW/ - Lottery players in Ontario can look on the plus side of LOTTO MAX again. As there was no winning ticket for the $50 million LOTTO MAX jackpot last night, the upcoming LOTTO MAX draw for Friday, February 3, 2012 is once again an estimated $50 million. Additionally, there are an estimated 10 $1 million MAXMILLIONS prizes up for grabs, on top of the jackpot, bringing the total prize amount to $60 million.

While there were also no winning MAXMILLIONS tickets from last night's draw sold in Ontario, a ticket sold in Ottawa is sharing part of the second prize pool with two other tickets sold in Quebec. These tickets are each worth $212,238.

When the LOTTO MAX jackpot hits $50 million, players can look for the 'plus' sign where lottery tickets are sold to determine how many extra, separate $1 million prizes are available. These "MAXMILLIONS" prizes are drawn independently from the LOTTO MAX jackpot draw.

Since its launch in September 2009, Ontario LOTTO MAX players have won over $1.1 billion in prizes, including 19 jackpot wins and 114 winning MAXMILLIONS tickets from all across the province.

For each $5 play, LOTTO MAX players receive three sets of seven numbers ranging from one to forty-nine. Players must match all seven numbers, in any one set, to win the jackpot and the MAXMILLIONS prizes.

Tickets are available at official OLG retailers until 9 p.m. EST on Friday, February 3, 2012.

OLG is a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games and gaming facilities. Since 1975, OLG lotteries, casinos, slots, and resort casinos have generated more than $32 billion for the benefit of the Province of Ontario. Gaming proceeds support Ontario's hospitals, amateur sport, recreational and cultural activities, communities, provincial priority programs such as health care and education, and local and provincial charities and non-profit organizations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
