MONTREAL, Sept. 7, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - LOCALE, the ALDO Group's newest
banner, was recently recognized for outstanding achievement in design
for its self-titled magazine by both the Advertising and Design Club of
Canada (ADCC) and The Professional Association for Design (AIGA).
The ADCC recognizes the best in print and broadcast advertising, graphic
design, editorial design and interactive media across Canada, and
awarded the fall/winter 2010 issue of the magazine with a silver medal
in Art Direction. In addition, the AIGA named the same issue one out of
a group of 135 examples of outstanding design produced in 2010.
"The LOCALE magazine is a true artistic expression. Working on this
project means having the unique opportunity of collaborating with
talent from across Canada" says Reanna Evoy, Art Director for LOCALE.
"The exciting part of working with these local illustrators, writers
and photographers is having the chance to work together towards a
common goal. It's legitimately about community".
The magazine team also includes Creative Director Douglas Bensadoun,
Producer and Marketing Manager Catherine Laporte and Editors Sarah
Steinberg and Isa Tousignant.
Showcasing local artists, community profiles and fashion editorials, the
bi-annual magazine is LOCALE's single most important vehicle used to
communicate the brand to both the customer and the community.
Leveraging the team's network of creative talent, the magazine
establishes a distinct point of view that both informs and is informed
by the LOCALE brand.
The upcoming Fall/Winter issue, entitled Multiplicity/The New Math, will
be available in stores late-September. As LOCALE locations multiply,
the issue celebrates with a special nod to a new brand of math - when
one plus one makes three and two plus two makes shoe.
LOCALE is a new footwear & accessories boutique-style concept store that
celebrates Fashion, Art & Community.
The LOCALE concept grew out of a desire to feature innovative shoe
designs from leading national brands as well as create a self-titled
"LOCALE" private label collection. Taking the communities in which each
store is located as a source of inspiration, LOCALE highlights the work
of individual visual artists working locally in a series of curated
