OTTAWA, Feb. 1 /CNW/ - Canada's 2011 International Year of Chemistry
organizing committee today launched a YouTube contest, "It's Chemistry, Eh?!", aimed at highlighting the exciting contributions that chemistry makes
"We're looking for students in towns and cities across Canada who have
an interest in science, and the ability to have some fun with chemistry
and to convey that on-camera," says David Dolphin, chair of Canada's
IYC organizing committee.
Middle and high school students are eligible to win $500, $1,000 or
$2,500 in scholarship funding for submitting creative, one to
three-minute videos that demonstrate the benefits of chemistry,
showcase the contributions of a recognized chemist, or bust a commonly
held myth. The contest runs until April 22, 2011 and a full list of
rules and judging criteria can be found on www.iyc2011.ca.
Canada's International Year of Chemistry YouTube contest is sponsored by
