Public Comments Invited on the Comprehensive Study Report
OTTAWA, May 5 /CNW/ - The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the
Agency) invites the public to comment on the Comprehensive Study Report
for the proposed Lake Winnipeg East Side Road Project (Provincial Road
304 to Berens River All-Season Road) located in Manitoba.
The Comprehensive Study Report includes the Agency's conclusions and
recommendations regarding the adverse environmental effects that are
likely to result from the project, the significance of those effects,
and appropriate measures that would mitigate any significant adverse
After this public comment period, the Minister of the Environment will
take into account the Comprehensive Study Report along with public
comments received and make his environmental assessment decision.
The Comprehensive Study Report is available on the Agency's website at www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca, in the Canadian Environmental Assessment Registry under reference
number 09-03-52056. The document is also available in hard copy, by request.
Public comments received by June 1, 2011 will be considered.
This is the last of several public comment periods related to the
environmental assessment of this project.
The East Side Road Authority is proposing to construct, operate, and
maintain an all-season road from Provincial Road 304 at Manigotagan to
the Berens River.
The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency administers the federal
environmental assessment process, which identifies the environmental
effects of proposed projects and measures to address those effects, in
support of sustainable development.
