TORONTO, April 8 /CNW/ - Invesco Trimark is extremely pleased to
announce new leadership positions on the Trimark Investments team,
effective immediately. The Trimark team has been a leader in the
Canadian investment management industry over the past 30 years, with
broad capabilities that have produced solid long-term investment
returns. A key to the team's success has been in developing and
preserving a strong investment culture.
The new leadership appointments for some of our senior portfolio
managers, along with some changes to portfolio management teams, will
further strengthen the unique investment culture at Trimark.

Rex Chong becomes Head of Fixed-Income Investments. Under his
leadership, our fixed-income portfolio managers have delivered reliable
and steady performance for over a decade. The team is widely recognized
for their depth of expertise in credit analysis and as a leading
fixed-income team in North America.
Rob Mikalachki has been appointed Head of Small-Cap Equities. He has
been a key contributor to our small-cap team for more than 10 years,
mentoring and developing members of the entire small-cap team since
Ian Hardacre becomes Head of Canadian Equities for Trimark. The most
tenured portfolio manager on the Trimark team, he has been lead
portfolio manager on the flagship Trimark Canadian Fund since 1999. His
team leadership will include coordinating research efforts on Canadian
equities and oversight of all Canadian equity analysts and portfolio
Trimark Select Growth Fund
After considerable planning, Invesco Trimark has decided to diversify
and enhance its global equity product line. This will be accomplished
by changing the mandate of Trimark Select Growth Fund.1 In making this enhancement, we are pleased to announce changes to the
portfolio management team responsible for managing Trimark Select
Growth Fund. The new mandate will also be differentiated from Trimark
Fund, providing investors with a broader set of global equity
investment solutions. As the investment strategies of Trimark Select
Growth Fund are changing, Invesco Trimark will be filing a prospectus
amendment. In light of the exciting changes, we're pleased to introduce
a new name for Trimark Select Growth Fund. Going forward, the Fund will
be named Trimark Global Fundamental Equity Fund.
Effective immediately, this Fund will be managed by a team comprised of
Michael Hatcher (lead), Darren McKiernan, Jeff Feng and Dana Love.
Nearly two years ago, Mr. Hatcher, Mr. McKiernan and Mr. Feng joined
Invesco Trimark to take on lead management roles for Trimark Global
Dividend Class (Mr. McKiernan), Trimark Europlus Fund (Mr. Hatcher) and
Trimark International Companies Fund (Mr. Feng). We have reached an
ideal time to expand their portfolio responsibilities to include
Trimark Global Fundamental Equity Fund. Mr. Hatcher, Mr. McKiernan and
Mr. Feng will also join lead portfolio manager Dana Love on Trimark
Portfolio manager Heather Peirce is no longer with the company. We thank
her for her contributions.
Trimark Canadian Small Companies Fund
We are also pleased to announce that Jason Whiting becomes lead
portfolio manager on Trimark Canadian Small Companies Fund and
co-manager on both Trimark U.S. Small Companies Class and Trimark
Global Small Companies Class, joining Rob Mikalachki and Virginia Au on
our small-cap equity team. Mr. Whiting will remain lead manager of the
award-winning2 Trimark North American Endeavour Class, where he has accumulated an
impressive track record; it is the best-performing mutual fund versus
every single fund in the global, U.S. and Canadian equity categories
over the past three years.3
Portfolio manager Ted Chisholm is no longer with the company. We thank
him for his contributions.
Trimark Global Health Sciences Class
Jim Young becomes lead manager of Trimark Global Health Sciences Class,
a fund that he has been on since 2004. A veteran of more than 30 years
in the investment industry, Mr. Young has built a strong, long-term
track record on Trimark U.S. Companies Fund, being first- or
second-quartile over all time periods,3 and has a history of managing technology and health sciences mandates.
We congratulate each one of these proven investment professionals on
their well-deserved new roles and expanded responsibilities.
About Dana Love
Mr. Love has been a portfolio manager on Trimark Fund since 2004 and has
served as its lead manager since 2008. In 2007, Trimark Fund won a
Canadian Investment Award (CIA) as Best Global Equity Fund and while
Mr. Love co-managed Trimark Global Balanced Fund from 2000 to 2004, the
Fund won a CIA as Best Global Balanced & Asset Allocation Fund (2004).
During his tenure as lead manager of Trimark Europlus Fund, the Fund
won as Best European Equity Fund two years in a row (2004-2005) at the
CIAs and was a two-time (2009-2010) Canadian Lipper Award winner for
Best European Equity Fund for the latest 10-year period. Mr. Love
earned an MSc in Finance from the London Business School and a BA in
Sociology from the University of Waterloo, plus he is a CFA
About Michael Hatcher
Mr. Hatcher has over 14 years of investment management experience and is
lead portfolio manager of Trimark Europlus Fund. Previously he held the
position of Vice President at an established asset management firm and
was a senior member of the team that was responsible for managing over
$400 million in European equities. Mr. Hatcher graduated with an MSc in
Econometrics & Mathematical Economics from the London School of
Economics & Political Science and a Master's degree in Mathematical
Finance from the University of Toronto. He holds the Chartered
Financial Analyst designation.
About Darren McKiernan
Mr. McKiernan has over 15 years of investment experience and is lead
portfolio manager on Trimark Global Dividend Class. Previously, he was
a vice president and portfolio manager on a team that managed more than
$1 billion of equity investments with an established asset management
firm. In 1997, he joined the Trimark investments team as a global
equity analyst, where his primary responsibilities included broad
industry and sector coverage for Trimark Fund. He graduated with a
B.Comm. (Honours) degree specializing in Finance from the University of
Manitoba and is a CFA charterholder.
About Jeff Feng
Mr. Feng has over 11 years of investment management experience and is
lead portfolio manager of Trimark International Companies Fund.
Previously, he worked at an established asset management firm, where he
was Vice President, EAFE Equities and was a senior member of the team
responsible for managing over $300 million in Asia-Pacific assets. Mr.
Feng graduated with a BA in Finance from Xiamen University in China and
an MBA from Richard Ivey School of Business. He also holds the
Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
About Jason Whiting
Mr. Whiting joined Invesco Trimark in 2003 as an equity analyst and was
promoted to portfolio manager in 2005, working with Ian Hardacre on
Trimark Canadian Fund and Trimark Select Balanced Fund. In 2007, Mr.
Whiting was given lead management responsibilities for Trimark North
American Endeavour Class. Prior to joining Invesco Trimark, he was a
research analyst supporting the Canadian and global equity teams at
Laketon Investment Management. He graduated with a BBA (Hons) from
Wilfrid Laurier University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst
About Jim Young
Mr. Young has over 30 years' investment management experience, with
extensive expertise managing U.S. equities, as well as technology and
health sciences equity mandates. He began his investment career in 1977
as an analyst at Ontario Hydro Pension Fund. He worked as a senior vice
president at Prudential-Bache Securities and was Vice President, U.S.
Equities at Royal Bank Investment Management prior to joining Invesco
Trimark in 1999. Mr. Young holds an MBA from McMaster University and is
