TORONTO, May 5 /CNW/ - Hudson's Bay Company announced today the results
of its national 'Donate Your HBC Rewards Points' campaign in support of
Japan earthquake relief efforts, which raised over $200,000. The funds
are being donated to the Canadian Red Cross to provide on-the-ground
assistance, including evacuation support, shelter and first aid to
those affected by the devastating earthquake and tsunami in March.
From April 10 to April 30, 2011, all Bay, Zellers and Home Outfitters
locations across the country offered Canadians the opportunity to
contribute to relief efforts by donating their HBC Rewards points to
the Canadian Red Cross Japan Earthquake & Asia Pacific Tsunami relief
fund. Contributions made by both customers and associates raised
$136,597. In addition to this amount, Hudson's Bay Company is making
and additional donation of $100,000 for a total donation of $236,597.
