Deep Cuts Would Take Ontario Off Track
TORONTO, Sept. 18, 2011 /CNW/ - Today, Tim Hudak released his "5 point
plan" for job creation, but forgot to tell you one thing. Ontario
Liberals are already doing it all.
Treat energy policy as economic policy - not as a social program.
Our focus on the clean energy sector will result in 50,000 new jobs in
Ontario - which he'll kill.
We've made the necessary investments that will keep the lights on -
which is the first thing that businesses' look for.
Meanwhile, Hudak's plan to stop collecting the Debt Retirement Charge
before the debt is paid off proves that he doesn't understand basic
economic policy. Someone will have to pay that charge, and under his
plan, it will be business, taxpayers, and municipalities.
Train 200,000 more skilled workers by expanding the apprenticeship
We've doubled the number of apprentices from 60,000 to 120,000
This won't happen under Hudak - it's one of the uncosted promises that
make up the $14 billion hole in his platform.
Reduce taxes on job creators.
We're already cutting the corporate tax rate to 10%, which is something
that the Hudak PCs voted against.
And we've cut the small business tax rate from 5.5% to 4.5% - another
thing that the Hudak PCs voted against - and we're going to reduce it
further - to 4%. Hudak doesn't match the small business tax cut in his

Introducing the HST was the single biggest reduction in red tape in 20
years - and the Hudak PCs voted against.
Eliminated 80,000 regulations
Lowering taxes on families so they have the confidence to spend again.
As part of a comprehensive tax reform package, we reduced income taxes
