- The only Canadian index of the quality of companies' interactive
MONTREAL, Nov. 17, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - The RBC Financial Group Chair of
E-Commerce at HEC Montréal announced the first results of the new imarkscore index of the quality of companies' interactive presence yesterday, in
conjunction with webcom. The index features 85 Quebec and Canadian companies in 15 different industries
whose interactive presence was evaluated by 5,950 Internet consumers
The index, developed by Sylvain Sénécal, Associate Professor of Marketing and Chairholder, and Sol Tanguay,
Co-Director of Partnerships with the Chair, was used to analyze each
company's interactive presence from four specific angles: the performance of its website, its social media activities, its performance on search engines and its mobile sites and applications. A total of 85 companies, including Future Shop, DuProprio, Archambault, Radio-Canada, Brault & Martineau, Groupe Jean-Coutu, RONA, Desjardins, Vidéotron, the STM, Simons and Air Canada, earned imarkscores.
"The imarkscore index will allow companies to compare themselves with their competitors
and with best industry practices, while helping them to better
understand certain consumer perceptions, beliefs and behaviours. The
customized analyses conducted and the company reports produced will
provide managers with fabulous tools for any web strategy," says
Sylvain Sénécal, co-designer of the imarkscore index.
Companies that have been studied will be able to order detailed reports
on their results from the RBC Financial Group Chair of E-Commerce at
HEC Montréal. And since the imarkscore index will be produced annually, companies can sign up to be analyzed
once a year as a way of tracking their progress.
The announcement of the imarkscore index was made possible thanks to the participation of webcom, umen innovation, Les Affaires and Léger Marketing.
