The public is encouraged to give generously to help raise the literacy
rate in New Brunswick
MONCTON, NB, Nov. 24, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - While the citizens of Moncton
get into the holiday spirit with Santa Claus's official arrival next
Saturday, Ernst & Young volunteers are getting ready to spread joy and
a thirst for learning to young people in the area with a book drive in
support of the YMCA of Greater Moncton's Youth Tutor Program.
"With the support and generosity of the public, we want to do something
tangible to encourage young people in New Brunswick to build their
reading and writing skills," says Étienne LeBoeuf, Senior Manager,
Assurance Services, at Ernst & Young's Dieppe office and leader of this
initiative. "Literacy is a key issue for the future prosperity of our
province, and we believe this initiative is a step in the right
Ernst & Young is inviting the public to the drop-off point this
Saturday. Volunteers will be on hand with hot chocolate for all
donations of books or cash, and donors can enjoy the Santa Claus Parade
Date: Saturday, 26 November 2011
Time: 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Drop-off point: Assumption Place, 770 Main Street, Moncton
Wanted: New and used books, cash donations
Target group: Children between ages 5 and 12
Donations will also be accepted at Ernst & Young's offices from 5 to 16
December 2011 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Books can be dropped off
at the reception desk of our Dieppe office at 11 Englehart Street.
