MONTREAL, April 21 /CNW Telbec/ - Desjardins Card Services, a business
unit of Desjardins Group, has obtained the Healthy Enterprise standard, an ISO-type certification issued by the Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ) to companies that promote the adoption of healthy practices and
maintain a healthy work environment.
"I am very pleased to observe the interest shown by a large organization
like Desjardins towards the Healthy Enterprise standard. It is not only
in the interest of the company. By investing in the health of its
employees, Desjardins wishes to see healthy habits among its employees
transmitted to their families as well. The implementation of this
standard is a gesture of social commitment, which is directly in line
with Desjardins' cooperative philosophy," says Jacques Girard, director
of the Bureau de normalisation du Québec.
"This certification confirms the commitment on the part of Desjardins
Card Services (DCS) to offer employees a distinctive work environment
that is favourable to their health and well-being. This distinction is
the crowning feature of many initiatives undertaken to contribute to
the overall health and the personal and professional development of our
employees, and it also reiterates Desjardins Group's standing as an
employer of choice," according to André Chatelain, vice-president of
Desjardins Card Services.
Among the initiatives taken by DCS are the 10-minute health breaks for
employees consisting of stretching and breathing techniques. A
