Concord Adex Welcomes Strengthened Ontario Government Balcony Glass Requirements

TORONTO, June 21, 2012 /CNW/ - Concord Adex today welcomed news that the government of Ontario has amended Ontario's Building Code to help address the safety of glass balcony guards. The province's new regulations will become the strongest in Canada and are based on the Expert Advisory Panel on Glass Panels in Balcony Guards' recommendations and take effect July 1, 2012.

The developer contributed to the panel that helped advise the government on potential changes and said that it fully supports routine reviews of any regulations that encourage industry-wide changes to protect resident's safety.

"Concord Adex's number one concern has always been the safety of its residents," said Arash Beheshti, Concord Adex's Vice-President of Construction. "It was important for us to play a role in the advisory panel to implement standards which will best protect the safety of residents and community members."

Concord Adex has been a member of the Toronto urban fabric since 1997 and now features two thriving communities. When completed, more than 18,000 residents will call Concord CityPlace home, while Concord Park Place will be home to more than 8,800 residents and nearly nine acres of park.
