TORONTO, June 21, 2012 /CNW/ - Concord Adex today welcomed news that the
government of Ontario has amended Ontario's Building Code to help
address the safety of glass balcony guards. The province's new
regulations will become the strongest in Canada and are based on the
Expert Advisory Panel on Glass Panels in Balcony Guards'
recommendations and take effect July 1, 2012.
The developer contributed to the panel that helped advise the government
on potential changes and said that it fully supports routine reviews of
any regulations that encourage industry-wide changes to protect
"Concord Adex's number one concern has always been the safety of its
residents," said Arash Beheshti, Concord Adex's Vice-President of
Construction. "It was important for us to play a role in the advisory
panel to implement standards which will best protect the safety of
residents and community members."
