TORONTO, Feb. 18 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of the Canadian Grocery
HR Council (CGHRC) met in Montreal on Thursday, February 17, 2011.
Among the topics of discussion was the strategic direction in which the
Council will be embarking on over the next 3-5 years.
The strategic plan will deal with the common HR challenges faced by the
industry, including recruitment, retention and skills development.
Says Léo LeBlanc, acting Business Co-Chair, "I am pleased with our
recent decisions and the direction we're taking as we move forward."
The following organizations are the members of the CGHRC: UFCW Canada,
Teamsters Canada, Loblaw Companies Ltd, Metro Ontario Inc, Sobeys Inc,
Canada Safeway Ltd., Overwaitea Food Group LP, Coleman Group of
Companies, Co-op Atlantic, the Canadian Federation of Independent
Grocers (CFIG) and Association des détaillants en alimentation du
Established in 2003, the Canadian Grocery HR Council (CGHRC) is a
nationally recognized, non-profit organization funded by the Government
of Canada's Sector Council Program that brings together representatives
from business, labour, education, industry associations, government and
other professional groups to support a collective response to the
grocery industry's human resource challenges.
