CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA, Sept. 29, 2011 /CNW/ - CFA Institute announced
today a change to its management structure. After taking into
consideration the global, long-term needs of the organization, there
will no longer be a senior managing director role. As a consequence,
the current senior managing director, Robert R. Johnson, PhD, CFA, will
be leaving the organization next month. CFA Institute is best known
for the globally recognized Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)® Program,
other education and credentialing programs, as well as its advocacy for
fair and efficient financial markets.
The Leadership Team of CFA Institute is composed of John D. Rogers, CFA,
President and Chief Executive Officer, with ten managing directors who
oversee various aspects of the organization's worldwide activities
through operational hubs in New York, London, Brussels, and Hong Kong,
in addition to Charlottesville. The organization has more than 100,000
members and 200,000 CFA Program candidates in 135 countries.
"Bob Johnson has made many contributions throughout his 15 years of
service to the organization, including significant enhancements to the
CFA Program, the introduction of the CIPM program for performance
measurement professionals, and the launch of our Latin American
strategy," said Rogers. "All of us at CFA Institute thank him for
these contributions and are grateful for his legacy."
Johnson will leave the organization effective 21 October 2011.
