MILFORD, Ohio, June 12, 2011 /CNW/ -- A new Guinness World Record has been set in suburban Cincinnati on Saturday, June 11, 2011 - for the largest car wash in history. The 12 Cincinnati-area CARSTAR stores led more than 140 stores across the United States and Canada in the North American attempt to break the Guinness World Record it set in 2009 for "World's Largest Car Wash - Multiple Venues" by washing 4,918 cars in eight hours.

The event, held by CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts, North America's largest chain of collision repair centers, donated 100 percent of the ticket sales to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® in the U.S. and Cystic Fibrosis in Canada, as well as select local charities. More than $67,000 was raised through the event.
