The Collection Loto-Québec : L'art de partager

MONTREAL, Nov. 18, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Collection Loto-Québec has decided to mark its 35th anniversary by sharing a major part of its collection of works of art acquired over the years, with the people of Québec. In partnership with the Ministère de la santé et des services sociaux (MSSS), art will be loaned on a long term basis to regional institutions hosting travelling thematic exhibitions from the holdings of the Collection.

Inspired by the MSSS awards of merit for outstanding health care institutions, Loto-Québec has set criteria that will enable various prizewinners to host Collection artwork for a period of 10 years.

"Faithful to our double mission of acquiring and circulating Québec art throughout the province free of charge, this project will make hundreds of pieces accessible to the public while simultaneously showcasing local artists," announced Loto-Québec's Director of Corporate Sponsorships and Social Commitment Lucie Lamoureux, at the Prix d'excellence du MSSS Gala.

The participating institutions will benefit from ready-to-go projects. Once exhibit potential spaces have been selected, works will be chosen jointly with the curator of the Collection, Louis Pelletier. Signage, artist biographies and informative notes about the nature of the project will cap off the partnerships.
