PTI Group and Driftpile Cree Nation form Strategic Alliance

EDMONTON, Feb. 1, 2012 /CNW/ - PTI Group, a North American leader in providing workforce accommodations and catering services, announced the signing of an exclusive business relationship and strategic alliance agreement with Driftpile Cree Nation.

The 1,200-member Driftpile Band is located on the southern shore of Lesser Slave Lake in Northern Alberta, 300 km northwest of Edmonton. Through the agreement, PTI will work with Driftpile Cree Nation to provide workforce accommodations and catering services to companies operating in the Lesser Slave Lake Area. PTI and the Nation will also collaborate on developing training and employment opportunities for those interested in a career in hospitality or food services, and on ensuring that local businesses are informed of contractual opportunities.

"Driftpile Cree Nation is looking forward to working with PTI Group on this new alliance", says Rose Laboucan, Chief for Driftpile Cree Nation. "Employment and economic development are priorities for our Nation and through this strategic alliance opportunities will be created for our membership."

PTI Group has built a strong reputation as an industry leader providing quality of life for those working in remote areas.  Having formed several successful joint ventures and alliances with Aboriginal communities across Canada, PTI takes a principled approach to ensure the relationships meet the needs of all involved.

"PTI is pleased with our agreement with Driftpile Cree Nation," says Stephen Crocker, Manager of Aboriginal Relations for PTI.  "We believe we have aligned with a partner that shares our commitment to build a successful relationship and bring long lasting benefits to the Nation."

With over 30 years of industry experience, PTI Group is one of North America's largest fully integrated suppliers of remote site services providing temporary and permanent workforce accommodations, food services, facility management, and other value-add services to resource industries worldwide. PTI's commitment to Aboriginal Relations was affirmed through finalist nominations for the 2011 and 2012 Aboriginal Relations - Alberta Best Practice Awards of Distinction and through winning the 2011 Premier's Award of Distinction. Managed and presented by the Alberta Chambers of Commerce, the award is given to a non-Aboriginal business that demonstrates outstanding achievements in the area of Aboriginal relations.
