CALGARY, April 12 /CNW/ - The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) has
issued a Notice of Hearing against Alberta residents John Herbert
Holtby, James Roger Douglas, Jeffrey Scott Bratvold, Neil Donald
Tanner, Kenneth Michael Burdeyney, Eric John Jaschke, Gayle Marie
Walton, Ken Landsiedel, and Dale Richard Stock, and against B.C.
resident Randall George Kowalchuk for alleged breaches of Alberta
ASC staff allege all of the respondents, with the exception of Dale
Stock, were in a special relationship with Eveready Inc. and were in
possession of material information not publicly disclosed when they
purchased Eveready shares between January and April of 2009. ASC staff
further allege that Holtby, a director of Eveready at the time,
"tipped" this information to several people, and the other respondents
received this information from Holtby, or from others he had tipped.
ASC staff further allege that Holtby, Douglas, Bratvold and Stock all
concealed or withheld information from ASC staff. As a result, ASC
staff allege that each of these respondents, through the actions noted
above, breached Alberta securities laws.
An appearance to determine a date for a hearing is set for Thursday, May
12, 2011, at 10 a.m. in the ASC Hearing Room on the 5th Floor, 250 - 5th Street S.W., Calgary, Alberta.
A copy of the Notice of Hearing is available on the ASC website at www.albertasecurities.com.
