VANCOUVER, British Columbia and ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill., Nov. 16, 2011 /CNW/ -- Bang & Olufsen, the Danish provider of exclusive, custom-built audio and video products, together with Commercial Electronics, Vancouver's largest CE retail provider, will officially open its new showroom location in Vancouver on Thursday, November 17 with a dedicated press reception and grand opening customer event. Additionally, a VIP grand opening for the new Commercial Electronics store will be held on November 18, and a public grand opening will be held on November 19.
Most Vancouverites easily recognize Commercial Electronics' well-known mustard brick building located between Davie Street and the Burrard Bridge. Now, after over 50 years, Commercial Electronics (and Bang & Olufsen Burrard Street) will move to a new home in the South Granville neighborhood.
The Bang & Olufsen South Granville showroom is showcased in a sleek, store by store concept alongside the 2500 square foot Commercial Electronics store. The new 1500 square foot Bang & Olufsen South Granville showroom will provide the complete Bang & Olufsen product portfolio in addition to personalized custom installation capabilities for both commercial and residential applications.
Commercial Electronics was founded in 1957 by Henry von Tiesenhausen. Henry grew the company from a small TV and radio repair shop into BC's leading expert in audio and video, home theater, home integration, professional A/V, commercial installations, and A/V repair. In September of 2010 Henry finalized a sale of the landmark building and the company to Amacon, one of Canada's foremost real estate development, which then sold the company to Commercial Electronics' then Vice President and 40 year employee, Susanne Adam.
"Generations of customers have frequented Commercial Electronics, often without recognizing the true history, scope and range of what the company's many divisions can do," says Susanne Adam, Owner and President of Commercial Electronics. "This new space will allow us to demonstrate more of what we do, from hi-fi audio to commercial projects, whole-home integration and even rental and duplication services.
Commercial Electronics has a unique diversity of nearly 40 talented experts with over 200 years of combined experience. "Today electronic technology is all about integrating multiple disciplines to create easy-to-use, yet cutting edge enhancements to our customers' life-styles," explains Vice-president Christina Adam. "Additionally, we offer integrated systems that can automatically adjust thermostats, control lights, and move drapes, thereby allowing any business or family to easily make significant strides towards living greener."
In addition to the vast product offerings of the Commercial Electronics store, the Bang & Olufsen South Granville showroom will also present some new, highly acclaimed products launched this fiscal year by the world renowned Danish brand. New products on display will include, the BeoSound 5 Encore digital music system with patented playlist technology, the award winning BeoSound 8 iPad/iPod/iPhone docking station (B&O's fastest selling product to date in the history of the company) and a preview of the limited edition BeoVision 10 Chantrelle. Chantrelle is B&O's slimmest TV offered in a 46 inch model. It features a custom built bass port and digital surround sound, LCD TV with LED backlit technology, a unique easel stand for flexible placement and a soft, brown hue popular with interior designers and those in the motor industry.
