"This year's winners demonstrate great leadership, vision and commitment. They are driven to not only survive, but to thrive in today's challenging economy, and they are all leading examples of how winning cultures impact performance," says Marty Parker, Chairman and CEO of Waterstone Human Capital. "They have proven something we at Waterstone have always known, that great people that fit create great cultures, and great cultures create a competitive advantage that generates outstanding results, in both good times and in bad."

Fast Facts - Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures:

  • This is the 7th year of the Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures program
  • The competition was even tougher than in 2010, which in and of itself was a record-setting year for Canada's 10 in terms of nominations and submissions.
  • Over 400 organizations were nominated, and there was a 20 percent increase over 2010 in terms of the number of organizations proceeding with a formal submission to the program.
  • In-person interviews were held this past summer, across the country, between Waterstone Human Capital and senior executives from the submitting organizations.
  • The program's 26-member Board of Governors, consisting of top executives from many leading organizations from across Canada, voted on the submissions and chose 10 winners in three different regions (Western Canada, Central Canada and Quebec & Atlantic Canada), as well as 10 special category regional winners, at the end of September.
  • Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures' Board of Governors reconvened for the national vote on Tuesday, November 8, 2011.
  • Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures of 2011 will be celebrated at the 7th annual gala on Monday, February 6, 2012, at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto.

"This award recognizes the importance of great workplaces, but more importantly - great workplaces where culture drives performance," says Parker. "Culture is the one thing that distinguishes an organization. It's the greatest asset any organization can have, because it has the single greatest impact on performance."
