MISSISSAUGA, ON, Nov. 1, 2011 /CNW/ - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is pleased to report record-breaking October
sales and its best ever result for its compact SUV, the Subaru
Forester. While overall monthly sales of 2,314 vehicles represented a
decline of 4.8 percent, Forester sales were up 51.5 percent with 1,039
vehicles sold during the month of October. This skyrocketing sales
result helped Forester secure a new all-time sales record, besting its
previous monthly record - set in November 2010 - by 8.8 percent.
October showed positive sales growth for utility vehicles overall as
Tribeca sales rose by 66.7 percent and Outback sales held steady with
an increase of 1.2 percent over the same month last year.
"We've certainly made it through a challenging year with much
appreciation due to the strength of our dealer network," said Shiro
Ohta, president and CEO of Subaru Canada. "In light of this, I'm
especially delighted to see more and more Canadians recognize the
advantages of Forester's all-road and all-weather capabilities as we
head into winter weather."
