AIMCo explores future development possibilities for downtown Edmonton property

EDMONTON, Feb. 17 /CNW/ - Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) is pleased to announce that it has retained Hines as Development Manager to explore future development possibilities for a downtown Edmonton property that AIMCo owns.  Located mid-block on 102nd Street, north of Jasper Avenue, the property currently contains a 502-stall underground parking garage and a  two-storey podium connected to the downtown pedway system that could be further developed by adding an office tower.  Work at this stage is preliminary and development will depend on market conditions.

Hines has retained Pickard Chilton Architects of New Haven, Connecticut and HIP Architects of Edmonton along with engineers Read Jones Christoffersen and AECOM of Edmonton to examine office alternatives for the site.  Pickard Chilton was the Design Architect for the recently completed Eighth Avenue Place, a one million square-foot LEED® Platinum building in Calgary's business core partially owned by AIMCo.
