MONTREAL, Sept. 15, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - A hundred people met together
yesterday at the Château Ramezay for the official launch of the new
fundraising campaign, as part of the festivities for the 150th
anniversary of the Antiquarian and Numismatic Society of
Montréal (ANSM). At this time, we are pleased to announce that we have
raised to date $500, 000 out of our target of $1,000,000.
Did you know that the Museum was founded and is still administered by a
non-profit organization, the Antiquarian and Numismatic Society of
Montreal? Celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2012, the Society has,
since 1862, brought together men and women committed to heritage
conservation and the education of young people from Quebec and
Following a long tradition of citizen involvement in this unique Society
so very typical of Montréal, we are very pleased to congratulate
campaign president, Mr. André Paquette, an associate with Lavery de
Billy, as well as the members of the fundraising committee for their
work and involvement.
We would also like to highlight the pledge made by BMO Financial Group,
which has signed on as a major partner of the 150th anniversary
campaign with an outstanding contribution of $100,000.
This fundraising campaign is supported by Placements Culture, a Quebec Government matching program, with a contribution of $250,000.
The success of our campaign is a direct result of the involvement and
commitment of members of the Montréal community. We wish to thank them
warmly for their participation and generosity.
Founded in 1862, the Society of the Château Ramezay owns and manages the Museum. Owing to the involvement of
businesspeople, the Society is committed to preserving our heritage and
increasing awareness of Montréal's history. The Society will celebrate
its 150th anniversary in 2012.
