The Price Tag You'll Never Forget: The $3.8-Billion Canadian Wedding

TORONTO, May 24 /CNW/ - Approximately 150,000 brides will walk down the
aisle in Canada this year and happily spend an average of $25,883 on their
wedding day. Getting hitched today can be as financially ruinous as it is
joyous. It is mostly joyous for the $3.8-billion wedding industry in Canada,
finds Trevor Cole in the June edition of Report on Business magazine.
Following one Toronto bride as she meticulously plots every detail of her
fairy-tale wedding, the author offers a candid and revealing close-up of the
planners, bridal boutiques, photographers, cake designers, florists and other
vendors who stand behind the very big business of tying the knot and making
the dream of the magical wedding a reality.

    Also in the June issue:

Two solitudes - Once resigned to its death bed, the Montreal Exchange
today is the pride and joy of Montreal's financial circles, courtesy of CEO
Luc Bertrand. The MX is Canada's leader in derivatives trading, and Toronto is
jealous. Report on Business contributor Konrad Yakabuski follows the
renaissance of the MX and the dynamics between Canada's two remaining players
in the rapidly consolidating global exchange market.

It takes a tower - Calgary-based writer Chris Turner dissects the future
Bow Building - a monument to ecological enlightenment, also known as EnCana's
new Calgary headquarters come 2011. As one of the greenest buildings in
Canada, the Bow is laden with great expectations: to show EnCana is No. 1,
make its employees happy, demonstrate how green big oil can be and, hopefully,
give Calgary's downtown a new life.

The June issue of Report on Business magazine is available in Friday's
