MONTREAL, April 17 /CNW Telbec/ - On behalf of the students, faculty and
staff of Dawson College, Director General Richard Filion would like to express
his condolences and support to the students, faculty, staff and administration
of Virginia Tech, the scene of yesterday's massacre.
"Speaking from experience, unfortunately, I can tell you that the road to
recovery is a long one," he said. "But with the support of the communities
inside our schools, and the greater communities that surround us, we can draw
on their strength and encouragement. And we must never lose sight of our
mission, to help our youth achieve their best in a safe and stimulating
environment."
In a show of solidarity with Virginia Tech, the flags at Dawson were
lowered to half mast early this morning. On September 13, a gunman arrived at
the College and shot dead one student and injured 15 other students and one
employee.
