CI Financial reports assets under management

TORONTO, May 1, 2012 /CNW/ - CI Financial Corp. ("CI") today reported assets under management of $73.1 billion and total assets of $95.9 billion as of April 30, 2012.

Assets under management decreased 0.3% for the month of April, compared to a decline of 0.6% for the S&P/TSX Composite Index. Assets under management at April 30, 2012 represent an increase of $3.8 billion or 5.4% over the average assets under management for the fourth quarter of 2011 and an increase of 1.2% over the average for the first quarter of 2012.

CI also reported assets under administration at Assante Wealth Management (Canada) Ltd. of $22.7 billion at April 30, 2012.

CI is scheduled to release its financial results for the first quarter on May 8, 2012.
