Randstad Canada Joins Diversity Business Network (DBN) to Advocate Diversity in the Workplace and Supply Chain

TORONTO, Jan. 5, 2012 /CNW/ - The Diversity Business Network (DBN), welcomes Randstad Canada to its growing online community of Canadian corporations who recognize the benefits of diversity in hiring and the supply chain.  "Diversity is a natural part of our company. It is not just a program. It's an extension of how we work in society," states Jan Hein Bax, President of Randstad Canada. That is one of many reasons why Randstad has joined DBN as a consortium leader for human resources.

"We are thrilled to have Randstad join DBN," states Courtney Betty, President and Founder of DBN. "Randstad has demonstrated a real understanding of the competitive advantages that diverse hiring and sourcing brings to its clients. Their vision of diversity positions them as a leader in human resources in Corporate Canada. In their role as DBN consortium leader Randstad will provide HR and staffing services to DBN corporate clients leveraging and integrating the expertise and resources of smaller, diverse-owned HR organizations," Betty states.

"We believe it is important to incorporate diversity into a company's brand," Bax states. "Diversity defines a company's culture. It helps to attract new customers from diverse cultures, makes engaging diverse suppliers a natural extension to its operations and opens up new markets," he continues.  "Randstad has developed considerable experience internationally through programs such as VSO, Voluntary Service Overseas, and Club Empresas Comprometidas, a business network in Argentina working with people with disability. This gives our employees unique opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills to international challenges and build cross-cultural ties," Bax concludes.

Randstad will participate in the upcoming DBN supplier diversity conference scheduled for Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Allstream Center at Exhibition Place. Tom Turpin, Executive Vice President Sales, will be a speaker in the plenary session. "This partnership with DBN is an excellent collaboration and we are excited to promote the need for greater social inclusion, cultural appreciation, respect and harmony in the workplace and in society as a whole," states Turpin.

The focus of the 2012 conference will be the ROI of diversity for Canadian corporations. Diversity has been demonstrated to be a key source of innovation and productivity globally. The conference will highlight the best practices and strategies that can provide Canadian corporations with a competitive edge in these challenging economic times.
