New and adjusted GO Bus service for Lakeshore East passengers

TORONTO, Dec. 22, 2011 /CNW/ - Starting December 31, 2011, GO Transit will be increasing and adjusting some bus service within its Lakeshore East corridor.

Passengers are encouraged to check gotransit.com/schedules for specific schedule information.

Some trips on the Peterborough and Newcastle/Oshawa GO Bus routes will serve the newly constructed Newcastle Carpool Lot, which is located at Hwy. 2 and Hwy. 35/115. The lot has more than 150 spaces for commuters to park their car to continue on to their destination with GO.

Highlights of the changes include:

81 - Port Perry GO Bus

  • The weekday southbound 3:25 p.m. trip from Beaverton will now depart at 3:10 to connect to the 5:02 train from Whitby GO Station to Union Station . Times along the route will be adjusted.

88 - Peterborough GO Bus

  • Some trips will now serve the new Newcastle Carpool Lot (Hwy. 2 & Hwy. 35/115) with changes to existing trip times, including some earlier departures
  • A new southbound Friday trip will depart Trent University at 12:58 and run express to connect with the 2:28 train from Oshawa GO Station to Union..

90 - Newcastle/Oshawa GO Bus

  • Some trips will now serve the new Newcastle Carpool Lot (Hwy. 2 & Hwy. 35/115)
  • Changes to existing trip times, including some earlier departures.

91 - Newcastle/Oshawa Express GO Bus

  • All weekday trips will now serve the new Newcastle Carpool Lot (Hwy. 2 & Hwy. 35/115) with changes to existing trip times, including some earlier departures

93 - Durham College/UOIT GO Bus

  • 3 new weekday westbound trips will depart UOIT/Durham College at 5:40 p.m., 6:40 and 7:40, arriving at Scarborough Centre Bus Terminal at 6:20, 7:20 and 8:20.

94 - Oshawa Hwy 2 GO Bus

  • One new eastbound and one new westbound trip on Sundays and Holidays.
