Brian Burke to present horse to Toronto Mounted Police
TORONTO, Nov. 12, 2011 /CNW/ - On Sunday, November 13, at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, Brian Burke, Toronto Maple Leaf President and General Manager will donate a horse in honour of his son Brendan to Toronto's Mounted Police Unit. The horse, whose name is Moose - in homage to Brendan's nickname - will be presented by Burke at the Unit's 125th anniversary celebration.
The occasion, led by Honourable Chief of Police Bill Blair, will also include outstanding performances by the Toronto Police Pipe Band and the Governor General's Horse Guard Band. The event will also showcase Police Horse Soccer - played by the horses and a 6-foot ball!
Admission to the event is free for all Fair pass holders.
