Speakers at Tremblant Forum to discuss the notorious "Not in my backyard" syndrome and social acceptance of development projects
Launch of Novae's Guide Experts, Développement durable 2012
MONTREAL, Oct. 24, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - The eighth edition of the Tremblant ForumTM on corporate responsibility and sustainability will bring together leaders from the gas, renewable energy and infrastructure industries, as well as thought leaders in the environment and sustainable development sectors to discuss this year's theme, Social Acceptance and Development Projects.
In the morning, keynote speaker John Hanger, former secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, will talk about America's shale gas experience. Two panels should provide some lively discussion, notably involving Steven Guilbeault from Équiterre, Michael Binnion from Questerre Energy Corporation, Patricia McCunn-Miller from Talisman Energy and Hélène Lauzon, from the Conseil patronal de l'environnement du Québec (CPEQ). They will debate conditions for success and best practices for successful development projects that are socially acceptable. The goal is to identify solutions to establishing a social contract and to overcoming the polar opposites of immobility and development at all costs.
The conference will take place at the Fairmont Tremblant on October 28 and will be a unique opportunity for stakeholders from the public and private sectors as well as civil society to share their experiences and views on the best practices in the field.
Tremblant Forum is NATIONAL Public Relations initiative.
