Award winning broadcaster and analyst Anne Lagace Dowson is the new leader of The Tolerance Foundation
MONTREAL, Sept. 12, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - The Tolerance Foundation, an organization that runs anti-bullying and anti-discrimination programs in the French and English schools of Quebec, welcomes today Anne Lagace Dowson as its President and Director General. Over the past 15 years, The Foundation has presented its programs to more than 300,000 students with more than 6,000 workshops. It is credited with improving young people's knowledge of human rights in order to build a more tolerant and inclusive society.
Tolerance is an award winner, winning the "Rights and Freedoms Prize" (Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse) and the "Peace Medal" (The YMCAs of Quebec 's) among others.
"We are very proud to announce Anne's appointment, effective immediately", said Board Chairman, and respected businessman, Marc Gold. "Anne's sparkling communication and leadership skills make her a perfect match for our program."
Declared Anne: " I look forward to expanding our presence in the community in a dynamic fashion. Clearly bullying and discrimination are afflictions that are found in the workplace, as well as the school yard. We intend to provide a robust and imaginative response to these, and other forms of intolerance to make a real difference in people's lives."
