10 Lucky Finalists Now Revealed for Gillette DRAFTED 3 - The Search for Canada's Next Sportscaster

TORONTO, July 11, 2011 /CNW/ - Score Media Inc. (TSX: SCR) and Gillette today announce that the ten lucky finalists in Gillette DRAFTED 3 - The Search for Canada's Next Sportscaster have been selected. From April 30th - May 29th, thousands of applicants from across the nation auditioned in-person, mailed in entries or submitted audition videos online all with one goal in mind - to be Canada's next sportscaster contributing to theScore Television Network, ScoreMobile, theScore.com and theScore Satellite Radio while also striving to win a one-year spokesperson contract with Gillette.
The wait is now over for ten contestants who get the opportunity to strut their stuff for all of Canada beginning September 26th on theScore.
"Now that we're in our 3rd season, we have an even more diverse group of finalists than ever before," says Greg Sansone, Vice President, Television, Score Media Inc. "Both our season 1 winner, Paul Brothers, and our season 2 winner, Brent Furtney, are making their mark in the industry and we're eager to see who from this group will get that chance."
The ten lucky finalists are:
- London's Jacqueline Redmond - an on-air radio personality and an all around "guy's girl"
- Calgary's Mohammed Hammoud - a sports junkie with world class knowledge nicknamed "stat boy" in high school
- Ajax's Ryan Long - the self-professed "hardest worker in the Canadian entertainment industry" who is both a founding member of a ska/punk band as well a stand-up comic
- New Westminster's Peter Brown - an energetic film buff with strong debate and interview tactics
- Halifax's Michael John McLeod - a former janitor and onstage theme park entertainer with years of experience in theatre and film
- Toronto's Spencer Cathcart - a tenacious 18-year-old with broadcast experience and an engaging personality
- Calgary's Rochelle Loewen (Scott) - a recent radio, television and broadcast news grad with WWE experience
- Kitchener's Alex Ernst - an athlete who believes the key ingredient in a really great sportscast is more than just stats, it's all about humour
- Toronto's Rohan Ramsay - a Grenada-raised sports nerd who kept up with what was happening in North America by becoming a fervent news junkie
- Oakville's Elli Paras - a go-getter with a broadcasting background whose sporting interests include tae kwon do and archery
