University Students Across the GTA Embrace a Zen Lifestyle
TORONTO, March 2 /CNW/ - Campus Zen turns March Madness into Zen for students who may be feeling stressed, overwhelmed and want to adopt a healthier lifestyle. The Campus Zen -Wellness Symposium takes place throughout the month of March featuring keynote speaker Bryce Wylde, Homeopathic Doctor and local celebrity.
"With a desire to focus on student health and wellness, we created Campus Zen to assist students in mitigating stress, anxiety, pressure and uncertainty associated with student life while empowering and inspiring them to live a life full of happiness, optimism, purpose and self worth," says Michael Eisen, co-founder of Campus Zen and recent university grad.
The Wellness Symposium is a three day event taking place at York University between March 9 and 11, at the University of Toronto between March 22 and 24, and at Ryerson University between March 29 and 31. This interactive event is composed of a vendor exhibition fair, various breakout demonstrations, an inspirational movie night, and a keynote presentation. Most importantly, it is FREE for the students of each University.
"Students so often suffer from stress as a result of the harsh demands of university life and they rarely find the opportunity to look for effective ways of dealing with it," says Staci Peart, VP Campus Life with the York University Federation of Students. "As a result, we are excited to work with Campus Zen on this project and are confident that it will be very well received by the student population."
Campus Zen's keynote presentation with Bryce Wylde will focus on a holistic approach to your mind, body, spirit, lifestyle and environment. It is open to the public at a cost of $20 per ticket available at the door and free of charge for the students of the host university.
"It has always been a passion of mine to reach out and assist the student community of Toronto by providing them with a "Tool Kit" of practical advice and techniques on living a happier and more balanced life," says Wylde. "This workshop not only applies to students, but to everyone and anyone interested, as we are all students of life and we are always learning." Wylde is the author of The Antioxidant Prescription: How to Use the Power of Antioxidants to Prevent Disease and Stay Healthy for Life, and host of the CP24 Television show, Wylde on Health.
