MEDIA ALERT/PHOTO OPPORTUNITY - RIDE FOR KAREN: HUNDREDS OF CYCLISTS RIDE TO SEND KIDS WITH CANCER TO CAMP

TORONTO, Sept. 7 /CNW/ -


WHAT:  Hundreds of Ontario cyclists will take to the roads in York, Peel, Caledon, Nottawasaga and Simcoe regions for the ninth annual Ride for Karen, benefiting children with cancer. There is a 160km "Century Ride", a 25km Family Fun Ride, a Kids' Fun Ride for children ages two - 12 years, and a 100km "Metric Century Ride". The ride challenges cyclists and pays tribute to the life and legacy of Karen Tobias.  Sponsored by Scotiabank, the ride has raised over $1,185,000.

               12:45 p.m.  Lunch stop: Queensville Park, Queensville Sideroad, East Gwillimbury
  1 p.m.  25 km Family Ride starts: St Joan of Arc High School, 1 St. Joan of Arc. Ave., Maple
  1:45 p.m.  25 km Family Ride Feed Zone: Binder Twine Park, Teston Road in Kleinberg
  2:30-5 p.m.  Finish and BBQ: St. Joan of Arc High School, 1 St. Joan of Arc Ave., Maple
