Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange
TORONTO, Sept. 3 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for August, 2010.
Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange continued to experience strong listing activity in the first eight months of 2010 compared to the same period in 2009.
In August 2010, Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 10 new issuers, compared to two in August 2009. On a year-to-date basis, Toronto Stock Exchange has had 115 new listings in 2010, compared to 48 in the same period of 2009, which represents an increase of almost 140%.
Eleven new issuers joined TSX Venture Exchange in August 2010, compared to seven in August 2009. On a year-to-date basis, the Exchange has welcomed 108 new companies, compared to 59 in the same period of 2009, an increase of 83%.
IPO financing on Toronto Stock Exchange was up dramatically in August 2010, both compared to July 2010 and August 2009. Total financing activity on TSX Venture Exchange continued its strong momentum during the first eight months of 2010, with the amount raised exceeding 2009 levels by 151%.
